A Charming Remodelled Necklace

Remodelling is one of our favourite things to do. Many customers come to us with sentimental pieces they no longer wear — heirlooms, outdated designs, or forgotten treasures waiting for a new story.

For this project, our customer wanted a charm necklace created from her existing chain, using stones gathered from several old pieces. After discussing her ideas, we designed handmade star and moon charms to hold her preloved gemstones.

Our remodelling process typically involves three stages:

1. Metal Meltdown – The agreed gold pieces are melted together to form new gold sheet.
2. Forging & Crafting – The metal is cut, shaped and prepared for stone setting.
3. Finishing Touches – Each charm is cleaned and polished to a bright, lasting shine.

Before work began, our Goldsmith Lily created design visuals to make sure everything matched the customer’s vision. She then removed each stone, melted the gold, forged a new sheet, and hand‑carved the charms to beautifully complement the gems and chain.

Once the stones were reset and the charms attached, the final piece became a meaningful blend of old and new — a unique necklace our customer can cherish for years to come.
